Working in a gentle and caring way she provides a safe environment where you can talk about anything that is troubling you without fear of being judged. Marylou offers the opportunity to explore what is happening in your life and to look at what choices you have to bring about positive changes and autonomy; working towards raising self esteem through the development of self awareness. As a bereavement counsellor, Marylou has experience in dealing with grief and loss, and feels a special empathy towards the bereaved, understanding the need for support and compassion. Marylou is trained and registered with the OXSEM Divorce / Separation Recovery Programme and is able to offer empathic understanding for those undergoing the changes that come with Divorce and Separation. Marylou has considerable experience as a counsellor gained whilst working for MIND Counselling services, GP Surgeries, CRUSE Bereavement Care and her private practice. Experienced in life, Marylou works in a person centred way, valuing the diversity of the individual and is committed to promoting equality of opportunity. As an individual member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, working towards individual accreditation, Marylou is bound by its Ethical Framework of Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and subject to the Professional Conduct Procedure therein.
